The KG UVN1 has 3072 channels, 250 zones, and a whopping 160,000 contacts. The full radioid.net contact database is preloaded onto the radio. It has CTCSS/DCS, digital encryption, channel scan, group scan and text messaging. It features VOX functonality, a full DTMF keypad and programmable multi-function side keys.
The KG-UVN1 is a full featured radio with high end functionality, such as independent programming in VFO and channel modes, Private Call, Group Call, All Call, ARTS function, tail elimination, menu encryption, menu hide, lone worker, and stun/kill/activate options. It has a solid, rugged construction that puts it in the same league for durability as many business class radios.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Wouxun without their legendary full color LCD display, and the KG-UVN1 has it. The large, bright screen of the KG-UVN1 offers maximum visual clarity for the display of menus, graphics and text messages, and two frequency bands with the look and feel of a high end, professional two way radio.
The KG-UVN1 is easy to accessorize. It uses a common SMA Male antenna connector, and the same Kenwood 2-pin (K1) connector used by many other Wouxun radios. If you have another Wouxun, chances are good your headsets, earbuds, speaker mics and other audio accessories will work with the UVN1 as well.
The Wouxun KG-UVN1 is compatible with other makes and models of DMR supported radios. It is Tier I & II compatible. It is also compatible with any existing analog two-way radio operating on the supported UHF and VHF frequencies on the Amateur Radio bands.

Wouxun is producing this radio with two different firmware versions: one with support for 160,000 contacts, and the other with support for 8 hours of recording. We are shipping the 160,000 contact version. As such, it does not include the 8 hour recording function in order to accommodate the additional contacts.
Disassembly, hardware or software hacks may damage your radio or render it inoperable and will void the manufacturer warranty. This radio is limited to operation on frequencies within the 2 meter and 70cm amateur radio bands as required by the FCC.Wouxun is producing this radio with two different firmware versions: one with support for 160,000 contacts, and the other with support for 8 hours of recording.
