The KG-UV8D-PLUS has all the features you love about the classic 8D, such as 999 programmable memory channels, dual band UHF/VHF operation, DTMF encode/decode, selectable power options, 76-108Mhz FM radio, SOS function, VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) for hands-free operation, built-in flashlight, and even the original stopwatch!
It also has the large, iconic LCD display of the original UV8D, with bold color and sharp graphics. Of course, duplex cross-band repeat functionality is in there too, as well as true dual receive. Yes, the KG-UV8D Plus lets you receive two signals at the same time on both A and B bands!
But now, there's even more. Wouxun added a few nice upgrades to the KG-UV8D Plus, such as adjustable LCD backlight intensity, the ability to store and retrieve up to 20 sets of frequencies in the FM radio, and the power to edit the Power-On message as you need. Plus, it has some new features, including a voice compander, scrambler, and non-standard CTCSS/DCS.

Use of third party software to extend the frequency range past the posted specs of the KG-UV8D PLUS may damage the radio or render it inoperable. This procedure is not recommended and may void the manufacturer warranty. Wouxun has stated that they do not recommend or support the use of such "frequency adjust" software. Customers who attempt to modify their radio with the use of such software do so at their own risk.Optional Programming Cable
