Introducing the Olympia R500, the rugged, waterproof, repeater-capable radio for your next great outdoor adventure! The R500 has all the essential features you need in an FRS/GMRS transceiver, plus much more! It has 50 channels (22 FRS/GMRS, and 28 extra) plus 8 repeater channels, 121 privacy codes and 10 call tones. The R500 also has 11 weather channels (7 NOAA) to alert you to the elements and is IP67 waterproof to take them on. It's also submersible in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. It even floats!
The Olympia R500 is also loaded with other premium features, such as a built-in LED flashlight, vibrate alert, PTT power boost, auto squelch, roger beep, timeout timer, a battery meter, low battery alert, keypad lock, nuisance delete, and hands-free VOX. It's also ergonomically designed so you can hold it comfortably and has large buttons for easy operation, even when using gloves!
The R500 operates on either NiMH rechargeable battery packs (included) or 3 AA disposable alkalines (not included). Rugged durability and dual power options make the R500 a ready radio companion where ever you need to go!
