The Uniden GMR2872-2CK is a quality GMRS two way radio, advertising a range of up to 28 miles in optimal conditions (typically less than 1.5 miles in urban conditions). This radio offers three features that are somewhat unique: JIS-7 waterproofing, auto channel change, and group mode with direct call. The GMR2872 is rated at JIS-7 waterproofing, which means it can be submerged for up to 30 minutes in 3 feet of water. In addition, it is also designed to float!

Note: In order to make the radio watertight they do not have the accessory jack found on most radios. Headsets and other common accessories will not work with this radio.

Auto channel change will update all radios in your party to a new channel to help reduce interference. Direct call allows you to communicate privately with one specific member of your group.

The Uniden GMR2872-2CK supports all 22 FRS/GMRS channels with 285 privacy settings (142 Privacy Tones + 143 Group Codes). It also supports NOAA weather channels, meaning you can be alerted if severe weather is entering your area. The GMR2872 also features caller ID, a backlit display, missed call indicator, channel scan feature, and silent mode.

To take advantage of the auto channel change and direct call features, all members of your party must have Uniden radios that support these features.
