The Motorola RDV2020 MURS Edition two way radio has 2 channels and 2 watts of power. It comes standard with two of the most common frequencies used by many VHF radios, including MURS, Kenwood TK-2200, and Motorola XTN XV1100, XTN XV2100, and XTN VX2600 series radios. The RDV2020 is convenient and simple to use. A tri-color LED alerts the user to the radio's status and features. The Motorola RDV2020 radio also offers channel scan, hands-free VOX mode (with optional accessories), voice scrambling, and more.
The Motorola RDV-2020 operates on VHF MURS frequencies. This means it does not require a license as long as you use MURS frequencies! Note: The RDV-2020 comes with 27 (including all five MURS) of the most common VHF frequencies already programmed. By default, the radio is set to MURS 154.570, and 154.600. To change the default frequencies you will just need to go into programming mode and change the frequency number. Here are the five MURS frequencies and their corresponding frequency number:
- 154.570 – 3
- 154.600 – 4
- 151.820 – 7
- 151.880 – 8
- 151-940 – 9
