The Icom F4161/3161 is a high-end, high-performance 5 watt radio that is designed MDC 1200 compatibility. The F4161 / F3161 offers 512 channels and Basic LTR™ trunking and conventional mode operation. This is a feature packed radio for companies that need the most out of two way communications.
The IC-F4161/F3161 features 8 DTMF autodial memories, CTCSS, DTCS and DTMF encode/decode, 2 step reduced power setting, full 24 dot-matrix LCD display, 8 programmable keys, enhanced audio, built-in inversion-type voice scrambler, built-in VOX, lone worker function and voting mode scanning. It also has an escalating alarm.
But it's not all about powerful features, it's about powerful options as well. The F3161/F4161 Series includes a wide range of models designed for professional communications in a multitude of industries. These radios are available in VHF or UHF with and without keypads in your choice of standard or Intrinsically Safe (IS) versions. You can even choose your charger!
You can also choose between analog and digital transceivers. The Icom F4161 / F3161 Series radio is IDAS™ (Icom Digital Advanced System) ready. The F3161 and F4161 have 2 optional slots: one for the optional UT-126H digital unit and another for an option board (option board not included).
The Icom F4161/3161 Series Two Way Radio comes with a Li-ion battery pack, belt clip, removable antenna and a two year manufacturer warranty. BC-171 Standard Trickle Charger or BC-160 Rapid Charger optional.

The superior feature set afforded by IDAS includes Selective Call, Emergency Call, Radio Check, superior bandwidth utilization and more.
The F4161D/F3161D digital series is specifically designed for compatibility with the Icom F5061 mobile radio and the Icom F5000 series of repeaters.

Intrinsically Safe Option
Icom offers an Intrinsically Safe version of the F3161 Series radios. The intrinsically safe version is approved by the FM Approvals and is suitable for use in hazardous areas where flammable gases and liquids are used.
If you operate or work in a hazmat environment, an intrinsically safe (IS) two way radio can be a critical consideration.
