The Cobra CXR725 is Here!

The new Cobra CXR725 has arrived here and so far we like it a lot. Cobra claims the CXR725 is the "world's smallest high-powered GMRS/FRS radio" and we think that may very well be the case. It has a very compact design (though not much different from previous CXR series radios) that will make it very easy to carry around. It is not much bigger than a cell phone, so those of you looking for a small, but feature rich radio, should give it a look.

The Cobra CXR725 has VOX hands free operation, VibrAlert® silent paging, NOAA weather alerts, a backlit display, and it comes standard with rechargeable high capacity lithium ion battery. In fact, the CXR725 is one of the few GMRS radios with a Li-ion battery.

We have the Cobra CXR725 here in stock and ready to ship out for $49.99. If you have any questions then just give us a call (877-226-6445), send an email, or leave a comment here on our blog.

A GMRS Radio that Floats

Looking for an FRS/GMRS radio that is more water resistant than most? Then give the Uniden GMR2872-2CK a look. While you cannot go snorkeling with it, it can handle a dunk in shallow water and will even float. This is a good radio for weekend boaters, or those that will not get out of the rain.

It has all the main features you expect: 22 FRS/GMRS channels with 285 privacy settings (142 Privacy Tones + 143 Group Codes), NOAA weather channels, caller ID, a backlit display, missed call indicator, channel scan feature, and silent mode. We have them in stock for $74.99

A Weather Radio for Spring and Summer!

Yes, Spring is here! Many of us are now thinking about camping trips, perhaps a bit of yard work, and a rediscovery of the joys of being outdoors. Well one radio you might want to have with is the Midland Base Camp XT511. The XT511 combines a NOAA weather radio, AM/FM radio, and FRS/GMRS radio.

One great feature is that is can also operate on battery power, you can plug it into a power source, or by turning the Dynamo crank. This makes the XT511 ideal for emergency use, especially in areas with harsh weather conditions. And since this a GMRS radio, just add a set of Midland GMRS radios to cover all of your communication needs.

The XT511 also has a USB connector so you can charge your USB enabled devices (such as many cell phones). We have the Midland XT511 Base Camp Two Way / Emergency Crank Radio in stock and ready to ship for $69.94.

The Cobra microTALK CXR925

One of the new radios we just got in stock is the Cobra microTALK CXR925 GMRS two way radio. Not only is the design original compared to most two way radios, it also uses lithium ion batteries. Most consumer radios use nickel cadmium batteries which honestly are just not as good. Li-Ion batteries last longer and also do not suffer from "memory effects" when charging.

The CXR925 is relatively compact and has all the features you would expect form a top of the line GMRS radio (142 privacy codes, VOX, NOAA channels, silent alerts, and key lock). It also has the Rewind-Say-Again® feature. You can replay calls and record messages for playback.

We have them in stock and ready to go for $74.99. The CXR925 value pack comes with two radios, Li-Ion batteries, desktop charger, and wall adapter.

Cruiser Accessories License Plate Frames and Covers

Some of the most popular accessories we carry are license plate frames and covers, so we are pleased to let all of you know that we have expanded our selection. The plate frames are perfect to use with the Super Protector and other red light / speed camera defense products and the plate covers work great with Laser Veil.

One of the best features of the Cruiser frames is that they do not obscure or cover license plate numbers or other plate information. This means they are to legal in most states. If you have any questions regarding the allowable usage of plate frames and covers where you live, we recommend that you contact your local DMV office.

The plate covers are very durable, and the TUF SHIELD plates are almost indestructible. If you are in an area where license plate theft is common, just add a set of locking fasteners for even more security. We have a great selection of frames, covers, and hardware available and ready to ship.
MURS Compatible Radios

We have a new radio that some of you might be interested in. Our Motorola RDX RDV2020 (MURS Edition) two way radio operates on VHF MURS frequencies used by many VHF radios, including MURS, Kenwood TK-2200, and Motorola XTN XV1100, XTN XV2100, and XTN VX2600 series radios. The RDV-2020 MURS edition radio comes with 27 (including all five MURS) of the most common VHF frequencies already programmed.

The Motorola RDV2020 MURS edition has 2 watts of power, 2 channels, and comes with a lithium-ion battery. The RDV2020 is a though, and reliable commercial grade radio. The fact that it also uses MURS frequencies makes this the perfect choice for those looking for a VHF radio that does not require a license to operate. We have it set to the two most common MURS frequencies (154.570, and 154.600), but they are very easy to change.
